What’s New at the 65th Genoa International Boat Show

IMAT (Italian Maritime Academy Technologies) will be presenting its brand-new courses dedicated to the recreational boating sector during the 65th Genoa International Boat Show.

Founded to train officers, captains, and crews from every corner of the world, IMAT, based in Castel Volturno (Caserta), brings to recreational boating the same philosophy that has made it a point of reference for its technological, high-performance, accessible, and people-centred training.

IMAT, which is headed by Captain Antonino D’Alessio, has received official recognition and is now among the first centres in Italy to offer the official course for 2nd Class Navigation Officer: a recently introduced professional qualification, for which the Academy has fought with determination, responding to a real need across the sector.

That offered by IMAT is an innovative training experience with courses held by marine experts, relying on state-of-the-art facilities, simulators, immersive environments, and an approach that combines technical expertise and a keen focus on the individual, all of which allows trainees to operate on recreational boating units of up to 200 GT in the Mediterranean, filling a regulatory gap and opening up new professional opportunities for those who wish to build a career in the world of boating.
