What’s New at the 65th Genoa International Boat Show
It will be a debut at the 65th edition of the Genoa International Boat Show this year for the new Sun Odyssey 415, the first model in the ninth generation of boats that have put Jeanneau on the map. The hull of this new Sun Odyssey bears the same signature as that on the tried and tested 410, that of Marc Lombard in collaboration with Jean Marc Piaton Yacht Design.
An upturned prow and continuous edge from the transom to the bow make up two distinctive elements that truly make the 12.35-metre long hull stand out, with its maximum beam of 3.99 metres. The sail area is 82 square metres, specifically with 43.60 square metres for the mainsail and 38.60 square metres for the jib.
The deck plan is fully optimised and is developed on a single level with the two wheels located very much aft. Close, in fact, to the yacht’s swimming platform. In the centre of the cockpit is a functional table equipped with the two folding wings that serve the respective side sofas.
The interiors are bathed brightly in natural light thanks to the many windows on the side and on the deckhouse. The internal volumes are developed around the saloon, with the galley to the left of the companionway that precedes the dining area with the navigation station situated opposite.
The layout of the cabins can be with a master cabin forward with or without a bathroom in the cabin and two doubles aft served by a bathroom with the entrance from the saloon. Another solution is with a master forward and a double aft with only one bathroom on board.
