What’s New at the 65th Genoa International Boat Show
Power, elegance, innovation and tradition. All of these core elements are encapsulated perfectly within Beneteau’s new Oceanis 52, a model that is making its world debut at the 65th edition of the Genoa International Boat Show this year. The new Oceanis 52 is the result of two years of dialogue between a group of owners, dealers from the Beneteau network and charter companies, all determined to define a new generation of yachts of which the Oceanis 52 is the founding progenitor.
The contributions from owners, dealers and charter agencies were turned over to architect Roberto Biscontini, who took their ideas and key concepts to design the lines that make up the Oceanis 52, while Nauta Design took care of the exterior and interior design process.
At 16.28 metres in length and with a maximum beam of 4.84 metres, the Oceanis 52 stands out for her pronounced edge of the unmistakable hull and a maximum beam that extends all the way to the transom. This provides 30% more living space than onboard the previous Oceanis 51.1.
The Oceanis 52’s cockpit combines ergonomics and fluidity with C-shaped, convertible sunbathing benches that serve two tables. At the stern, we find the two wheelhouses with aft-led lines and, in the closed transom version, with the possibility of having a galley block equipped with hotplates and fridge.
The interiors, characterised by the generously spacious living section that houses the dining area, the navigator’s station and the galley with its own full-height fridge, can be organised in a version that includes three cabins (owner’s forward and two doubles aft) served by two bathrooms or an alternative solution that features five cabins (owner’s forward, two doubles aft and a single cabin overlooking the saloon) served by three bathrooms.
The sail area of the Oceanis 52 is 84.92 square metres while the auxiliary engine power relies on a 110 hp inboard.
