What’s New at the 65th Genoa International Boat Show

The Omikron OT60 will be making her debut at the 65th edition of the Genoa International Boat Show this year, showcasing her ample spacious volumes. This brand-new model (measuring 18.41 metres long by 6.06 metres wide) is the latest creation from Greek boatyard Omikron Yachts, an Olympic Marine Group brand, and bears the signature for exterior design of Lorenzo Argento.

The Omikron OT60, in addition to her highly personal and refined lines, stands out for her hull, which is designed to be reminiscent of a sailing yacht. An impression that, in fact, is absolutely correct, given that the lines were designed by none other than Juan Kouyoumdjian, who is also the designer of, among other vessels, three boats that have won round-the-world crewed races as well as several world titles.

The unique, refined hull ensures maximum efficiency and reduced consumption. Another feature that stands out on the Omikron OT60 is the stern gangway which, when raised, integrates into the cockpit floor and can be used as a lift for the tender.

A large glass door connects the cockpit with the interior living area which features a long sofa to port while to starboard, after an equally long piece of furniture, is the bridge with pilot and guest seating provided. Towards the bow, we find the descent into the sleeping area.

There are two possible cabin layouts around the saloon, which features a dinette and a “home-style” galley. The Club layout offers four cabins (three doubles and one twin), each with its own en-suite bathroom. The Owner’s layout, on the other hand, offers three cabins, with a full-beam owner’s suite forward; in this version, the en-suite bathroom can be arranged either at the forward end or aft end of the cabin.

The Omikron OT60 is powered by two 250 hp thrusters, making the maximum speed 16 knots. At 8 knots the range is 1000 miles.
