What’s New at the 65th Genoa International Boat Show
Designed to accompany and interpret the foiling revolution, Ready to Fly is the new collection that SLAM is presenting at the 65th Genoa International Boat Show, the city where the brand was founded back in 1979 and where Enrico Chieffi has been CEO since 2021.
Ready to Fly is a line that stands out for its strong and distinctive design, conceived for women, men, and young sailors, combining high technical performance, comfort, and a focus on sustainability. Lightweight fabrics, natural elasticity, and high-performance Primaloft padding, capable of retaining heat even when wet: every detail of Ready to Fly garments is designed for those who live the sea in every season.
The garments in the Ready to Fly collection include, among others, the Foil Spray Top, the Foil Top 1.5 and Long John 1.5, the result of a close collaboration with Olympic champions Ruggero Tita and Caterina Banti, twice gold medallists in the Nacra 17 class; the Foil Fleece Hoodie, which combines an essential design with protective performance comparable to that of an oilskin; and the Altura Puffer Jacket, the ultimate technical down jacket with Primaloft Silver padding, ensuring thermal insulation even when wet, a water-repellent exterior, and a windproof barrier.
SLAM is not only bringing its collections to the Genoa Boat Show, it is also confirming a real commitment on both social and educational fronts, supporting the future of sailing and the sea. With the RS21 U23 Mentoring Program, backing young sailors across all disciplines, and for the students of the Ferraris Pancaldo Nautical Institute in Savona, with educational outings aboard the ketch Leon Pancaldo. In addition, with the Making Waves campaign, SLAM gives a voice and space to women throughout sailing, supporting them both on and off the water.
