What’s New at the 65th Genoa International Boat Show
Scania’s most advanced and high-performance solution ever produced for the boating industry is how the company sums up its new Scania DI13, unveiled at the 65th Genoa International Boat Show.
Designed for unprecedented efficiency, this 13-litre engine delivers fuel savings of up to 8% compared to the previous generation, which translates into potential savings of up to 6.7 litres of diesel per hour of operation under full load.
Equally important is the significant reduction in CO₂ emissions, supporting global sustainability goals. The DI13 fully complies with strict IMO Tier III emission standards and can also run on renewable fuels such as HVO and biodiesel, making it a future-ready solution.
The new DI13 is available in a wide power range from 350 to 1,050 hp (257–772 kW), offering exceptional versatility for both recreational boating units and professional applications such as fishing and patrol vessels.
Alongside the DI13, Scania Power Solutions also introduces the 16-litre V8 engine, designed for the most demanding applications and synonymous with power and reliability. It delivers a maximum output of 1,150 hp.
Finally, the Scania electric engine highlights the company’s commitment to electrification. It provides a continuous output of 230 kW (280 kW peak) at 1,500 rpm and can be paired with 104 kWh or 208 kWh battery packs, making it ideal for silent, zero-emission cruising.
