Yamaha Marine and the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV) have renewed their partnership, setting course for a new four-year Olympic cycle with their sights firmly on the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
Following the success achieved at the Tokyo and Paris Olympics, the collaboration between Yamaha Marine and the Sailing Federation pushes ahead with renewed commitment. The shared goal remains to promote the expansion and development of Italian sailing in all its dimensions, from elite competition to grassroots sailing schools, through not just club initiatives but youth and inclusivity-oriented programmes.
Capelli’s Yamaha-powered dinghies, including the tried and tested Benaco 595 and the Tempestline, continue to serve as essential tools for coaches and instructors, thanks to Sailing Federation certifications and testing conducted in collaboration with federal technical staff.
“This renewal confirms the strength of a relationship built over time and grounded in shared, concrete objectives, a modern vision of sailing that is increasingly dynamic and technological, while remaining focused on the training and development of our coaches and clubs,” commented Francesco Ettorre, President of the Italian Sailing Federation.
“We are proud to renew our partnership with the national sailing team through to Los Angeles 2028, continuing to invest in sport and in the next generation of sailors, who embody the future of sailing, along with the Yamaha core value of innovation,” added Alessandro Russo, Yamaha Marine Division Manager. “Supporting new talent means fostering a sport that unites technology, respect for the sea, and genuine values.”
Alongside the Olympic campaign, the partnership between Yamaha Marine and the Sailing Federation stands out for its wide-ranging commitment: support for Olympic and youth-class coaches, partnerships with affiliated clubs, and backing for sailing schools and para sailing initiatives. All of these commitments converge into a network of projects that reaffirms a shared ambition: to make sailing increasingly more accessible, sustainable, and forward-looking.
