Blessed by the stunning Sacra di San Michele, a Benedictine abbey founded before the year 1000, and the Val di Susa mountains in Piedmont as a backdrop, the Azimut shipyard in Avigliana, where strategic craftsmanship, manufacturing and cutting-edge technology converge to form yachting excellence, launched the first Seadeck 9.
“Avigliana is a unique shipyard for this industry,” emphasised Giovanna Vitelli, President of the Azimut|Benetti Group. “Building boats at the foot of such a magnificent and towering mountain range has spurred us on to develop new solutions, push our technical and engineering capabilities to the fullest, and manage the entire process, from fibreglass and carbon fibre to the finished boat itself. The Seadeck 9 is the product of fifty years spent making the seemingly unthinkable possible, fifty years of challenges overcome.”
The Seadeck 9, flagship of the Seadeck Series, bears the signatures of Alberto Mancini for the exterior design and Matteo Thun & Antonio Rodriguez for the interiors, which are illuminated by large floor-to-ceiling windows. Among the most stand-out features of the exterior is the Fun Island, where terraces run across three levels, complete with a pool and a platform for entering the sea. An area of 60 square metres designed to be enjoyed and shared.
Continuing the series’ commitment to sustainability, the Seadeck 9 is designed to allow for the installation of the Volvo Penta hybrid propulsion system and embodies that close union between craftsmanship and industry expressed by the Avigliana shipyard, which has been benefitting from a €50 million investment plan since 2023, redesigning spaces, processes and production flows, enabling the construction of yachts up to 27 metres in length.
