What’s New at the 65th Genoa International Boat Show
Riviera Genova, the Ligurian company famous for its compasses and boating accessories, is presenting at the 65th Genoa International Boat Show the genuine leather versions of four steering wheel models for motor boats.
Riviera Genova also specialises in the production of nautical steering wheels that are comfortable, sturdy, and aesthetically refined, all characterised by a consistently high level of quality.
The steering wheels are made of genuine leather in black or brown, with black, red, or white stitching, and have successfully passed a long series of sea trials. These tests confirmed the durability and resistance of the leather upholstery, which enhances the design while making the grip soft and pleasant to the touch.
The genuine leather, combined with stainless steel or composite spokes, ensures a firm grip in all weather and sea conditions, even in high temperatures.
The new Riviera Genova steering wheels in real leather are the VR00 (diameter 280 mm) with three spokes suitable for dinghies, open boats, and cabin cruisers up to 4.50 metres, the VR02 (diameter 350 mm) with five stainless steel spokes, the VR04 (diameter 350 mm) with three composite spokes, ideal for motor boats up to 12 metres, and the VR03 (diameter 400 mm) with five stainless steel spokes for motor boats up to 14 metres.
Every component of a Riviera Genova steering wheel is designed and manufactured in-house, supported by a design office equipped with 3D CAD stations, a mould workshop, EDM and grinding machinery. The industrial process also relies on lathes, milling machines, and a metrology laboratory.
Moulding is carried out internally, and each product comes with a quality certificate that attests not only to the authenticity of the leather but also to its status as Made in Italy.
