The first Sanlorenzo 58Steel, an elegant superyacht successor to the 57Steel, equipped with a revolutionary diesel-electric system that reduces emissions by 10% and lowers noise levels to almost complete silence, has been launched under the name Perla Lunar.
The new Sanlorenzo 58Steel arrives 15 years after Sanlorenzo’s first steel yacht and with an entirely reimagined concept of space on board. The exterior design is by Zuccon International Project.
“The 58Steel embodies the philosophy of a superyacht conceived to redefine proportions, privacy and performance, offering a new dimension of silent and sustainable navigation,” commented Massimo Perotti, Executive Chairman of Sanlorenzo. “This model represents our ambition to uphold our position as the benchmark for the yacht sector up to 2,000 GT, thanks to our metal range, which now includes six distinct superyacht lines and sets new standards in terms of design and desirability.”
The new Sanlorenzo 58Steel, while drawing inspiration from the 57Steel platform, offers interior volumes comparable to those of a 64-metre superyacht thanks to her maximum beam of 10.8 metres, with two full-beam VIP cabins on the lower deck, a VIP Supreme cabin on the main deck and, perhaps most worthy of note, the upper deck entirely reserved for the owner.
And yet, the element that truly distinguishes the new Sanlorenzo 58Steel is her diesel-electric propulsion system, the first of its kind on a superyacht in the Sanlorenzo Steel line, based on five 425 kW generators and a 1 MW battery pack that powers azimuth pods. This configuration reduces emissions by approximately 10% compared to conventional propulsion, allowing up to two hours of silent navigation or, with the yacht at anchor, up to eight hours of zero-emission onboard facilities.
