Dipartimento dei Vigili del fuoco, del Soccorso Pubblico e della Difesa Civile

Description

The Department of Firefighters, Public Rescue, and Civil Protection ensures urgent technical rescue through the operational structures of the National Fire and Rescue Corps, which are distributed across the entire national territory and operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These interventions are characterized by urgency and immediacy, and often require highly specialized technical expertise and appropriate equipment and resources.
Fire prevention is another public service function entrusted to the Fire and Rescue Corps, which, through research, experimentation, regulation, and inspection, aims to reduce the likelihood of fire outbreaks or to limit their consequences.
The Department is also an integral part of the National Defense system, contributing to the protection of the State's vital interests and to the safeguarding of the population in cases of major or widespread emergencies that pose risks or threats to national security.
