GUARDIA DI FINANZA-COMANDO REGIONALE LIGURIA

The Guardia di Finanza is a military Police Force reporting directly to the Minister of Economy and Finance, member of the integrated system of Armed Forces of the State, entrusted with general economic and financial crime-fighting competences, committed to preventing and countering all forms of illegality (for the protection of the national budget and that of the European Union) and to repressing offences wich are increasingly transnational in character.
As from January first, 2017, as per leg. decree no. 177, dated August 19, 2016, the Guardia di Finanza has the exclusive function of economic and financial police at sea, giving its support in maintaining public order and security and combating illegal trafficking.
It contributes to political and military defence of borders, military operations in case of war and military missions abroad.
